Adoption of Amendment No 18 to Ballina Shire Development Control Plan 2012

Amendment of Chapter 4 Residential and Tourist Development

Council adopted amendment No 18 of the Ballina Shire Development Control Plan 2012 (the DCP) at its Ordinary Meeting held on 12 December 2024. The amendments to Chapter 4, Residential and Tourist Development will take effect from 18 December 2024.

The amendments focus on controls applying to dwelling houses, secondary dwellings and dual occupancies and include changes to:

  • Setbacks, including building height plane
  • Solar access and climate appropriate building design
  • Landscaping and open space
  • Lot sizes for dual occupancy.

The relevant local environmental plan is Ballina Local Environmental Plan 2012 (2013 EPI 20) - NSW Legislation
