At its November 2025 Ordinary meeting, Council resolved to adopt the updated Built Environment Fire Safety Program Policy.

This policy aims to establish clear principles and guidelines to assist Council officers to act fairly, consistently and effectively in relation to building fire safety matters that are governed under the provisions of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, 1979, and the Environmental Planning and Assessment (Development Certification and Fire Safety) Regulation, 2021.

The draft policy will be publicly exhibited for 28 days.
