Ballina Shire Council is preparing a new Economic Development and Visitor Economy Strategy to help shape a strong, sustainable and prosperous future for the Shire.
The Strategy will set the long term direction for Ballina Shire’s economy through to 2035, supported by a five year action plan that identifies practical priorities, actions and partnerships for implementation. It will bring together economic development and visitor economy planning into one integrated framework for Council.
Council is undertaking this project to provide a clear, measurable and achievable roadmap for the future. The Strategy will help strengthen support for local business, guide investment and advocacy priorities, respond to workforce and infrastructure needs, manage visitation and align Council’s work with relevant local, regional and state planning frameworks.
Importantly, the Strategy is being developed in collaboration with business, industry, community and government partners. Community and stakeholder input will help identify Ballina Shire’s economic strengths, key challenges, future opportunities and the priority actions needed to support prosperity across our towns and villages.
