Lennox Head has undergone great change over the last decade. The new suburbs we see today were planned for in the Lennox Head Community Aspirations Strategic Plan 2002 and Lennox Head Structure Plan 2004. Most of the Plans have now been delivered.

Following extensive consultation, Ballina Shire Council resolved at its Ordinary Meeting on 26 October 2023 to adopt a new Lennox Head Strategic Plan 2023 - 2043. The plan covers Lennox Village, Ross Lane, Epiq Estate and surrounding communities, and Skennars Head down to North Creek.

The plan will guide Council’s strategic planning and decision making relating to Lennox Head and Skennars Head over the next 20 years, assigning actions and responsibilities to achieve the community’s vision.

A Lennox Head Planning and Environmental Study (LHPES) has also been prepared, which helped to inform the Strategic Plan.
