The 1.24 hectare reserve is located between Hutley Drive and Ocean Breeze Drive, Lennox Head.
The Master Plan was developed in consultation with surrounding residents and the broader Lennox Head community. The community was invited to complete an online survey and engaged through a variety of mediums including letters, flyers, newspaper adverts, and the local media.
The Lennox Community Gardens group has established the community garden area on the reserve, and the Hutley Drive extension project has also been completed so that the site is now ready to implement more of the master plan for the reserve.
Vegetation management
Council is seeking community feedback on a Tree Management Plan developed for the proposed vegetation management works from the Ocean Breeze Reserve Master Plan.
The proposed works will involve pruning and removal of weeds and identified exotic and native species to improve the health and amenity of vegetation on the reserve.
Additional reserve trees will be planted and landscaping carried out to enhance shade and improve the reserve amenity.
Playground design
The nature play based playground, designed through community feedback for the reserve Master Plan, has been further developed for construction.
The playground will include features of the adopted concept such as a dry creek bed, rock boulders, balance logs and steppers, timber swing and mound slide, with the addition of a timber agility and climbing course to provide something for all ages. View the Playground Design Plan.
