Ballina Council has two matters on public exhibition that, under provisions of the Local Government Act, 1993, require a public hearing to be conducted.
The matters are:
1. Reclassification of closed roads (from ‘community to ‘operational’) adjacent to Ballina airport.
This is Item #9 within an LEP General Amendments planning proposal that is on public exhibition until November 5.
The planning proposal and associated documents can be viewed here;
2. Recategorisation of a storage shed at Skennars Head Reserve, from ‘sports ground’ to ‘general community use’.
This is part of a revision of Council’s Plan of Management (PoM) for Community Land that is on public exhibition until November 19, 2025. The PoM and the associated report to Council can be viewed here;
The public hearing is to be chaired by a person independent of Council and will be held in the Ballina Council Chambers at 40 Cherry Street, Ballina on Monday 10 November at 10.00am.
