At its September 2023 Ordinary meeting, Council resolved to adopt the Public Interest Disclosure Policy.

The policy is based on the Model Policy and Guidelines developed by the NSW Ombudsman and will replace the current Internal Reporting Policy. The policy relates to other key Council policies including:

  • Code of Conduct
  • Complaints Management
  • Fraud and Corruption Control

This policy demonstrates Council’s commitment to operating with integrity where public officials are encouraged to report any conduct that they reasonably believe involves wrongdoing and sets out the process for reporting and the framework to support those that speak up.
