In accordance with Schedule 1 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Notice is hereby given that the following nominated integrated development application has been lodged for Council’s assessment and determination.

APPLICANT: Aurecon Australasia Pty Ltd

PROPERTY: Lot: 5 DP: 788808, Lot: 1 DP: 593926, 110 Whites Lane ALSTONVILLE, 112 Whites Lane ALSTONVILLE

PROPOSAL: Erection of two single-storey buildings and operation of an Information and Education Facility from Building 1 and ancillary café and retail shop from Building 2, and associated earthworks, vehicle access and parking, signage, landscaping and infrastructure works.


The development is classified as ‘integrated development’ under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 as it requires General Terms of Approval as a Special Fire Protection Purpose from NSW Rural Fire Service under Section 100b – and requires a Controlled Activity approval from Water Management Act 2000 under s91.

The subject development application and associated documents may be viewed by visiting Council’s DAs (Development Applications) Online website da.ballina.nsw.gov.au, and clicking on Applications On Exhibition under the Applications menu.

Persons making a submission may need to disclose political donations/gifts provided to a Councillor or Council employee. Significant penalties apply for non-disclosure. For further information visit the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure website planning.nsw.gov.au

Any person may make a submission in writing to Council. Where a submission is by way of objection the grounds of objection must be specified in the submission. All submissions, including any personal information contained therein, will become publicly available documents and will be made available to the applicant and any other interested members of the public. They may also be included in Council’s business paper. If you do not wish your submission to be publicly available you must provide Council with written reasons for this. Alternatively, you may wish to provide an anonymous submission. However, anonymous submissions may be given less (or no) weight in the overall consideration of the proposal.

This development application may be reported to Council for determination at one of its Council Meetings.
