Consultation has concluded
Council is updating the Four Wheel Drive Beach Access – Seven Mile Beach (4WD Beach Permit) Policy.
At its December 2022 Ordinary meeting, Council resolved to continue to apply Ballina Coastal Reserve Plan of Management as the overarching management framework for the coastal reserve. The policy update ensures that 4WD access to Seven Mile Beach will remain open year round, with the proviso it may be closed at times for emergency management responses or to carry out beach management and the like.
Council resolved to remove the one day permit and add a weekly (7 day) permit.
The permits will be available for purchase for:
7 days
30 days
6 months
12 months
The draft policy will be publicly exhibited for a period of 28 days. At the completion of the exhibition period, a report on the outcomes will be provided to Council for consideration.
