Ballina Shire Council is preparing a Draft Master Plan and revised Plan of Management for Hampton Park Reserve. The Draft Master Plan will present the collective community vision for Hampton Park Reserve as a recreation and sporting venue.
The reserve is located at the corner of Moon Street and Burnet Streets, Ballina and was formerly part of the larger Clement Park Reserve (owned by NSW Crown Lands). The reserve is currently dedicated for "Public Recreation" purposes.
Council is the Crown Land Manager for part of Hampton Park Reserve, as outlined in blue on the map below, which provides general open space for the community and contains tennis courts, sports building, amenities block, shelter structure and vehicle access to the rear of the bowling club. The area also contains some significant fig trees.

The master planning process will take into consideration the recommendations of the Sport and Recreation Facilities Plan (2020) for tennis and croquet uses as well as explore opportunities to provide for other identified sporting needs such as pickleball.
There is currently no funding allocated for implementation of works. However, once finalised the Hampton Park Reserve Master Plan and Plan of Management will inform the management framework for the reserve, support future investment, planning and implementation of improvement works.
The initial community engagement phase is complete and a Draft Master Planning Report has been prepared. Subject to endorsement by Council, the Draft Master Planning Report will be placed on public exhibition to receive further community feedback.
